Steve Nash Joins LA Lakers As Point Guard

Much to the joy (or disgust) of many Lakers and Phoenix fans, point guard Steve Nash has just been recruited to the team. He has been traded from Phoenix Suns and in exchange, Los Angeles Lakers will give multiple draft choices and cash. I do not know how this would affect the entire basketball rhythm, considering the intense rivalry between the two teams, as well Nash's rivalry with Lakers star and my love Kobe Bryant. 

Shortly after the announcement, Nash released a statement saying how we wishes the Phoenix Suns well and that the win a championship in time. It must be hard for the Suns to let go of Nash, considering he still performs extremely well as 38 years old. 

Are you happy with this trade? Everyone must have the same question in mind: "How does Kobe work with an elite point guard?" Well, we have yet to know this season! Several Internet memes already sprawled the web within hours of the announcement. This is definitely something to enjoy this 4th of July!

Megan Fox Shows Off Pregnant Tummy

Sorry boys, but Megan Fox is happily married and is now ready to show off her pregnant tummy. She and her husband Brian Austin Green is expecting a baby very soon, and this photo above taken during their holiday is a rare one that confirms her pregnancy. She looks enviably beautiful with very little makeup on. I certainly hope that their marriage lasts, considering they have been together for quite a while now. It's not everyday we see a Hollywood couple sustain a lifelong relationship. I'm excited to see their pretty baby!

Linsanity: The Rise of Jeremy Lin

Basketball fans all over the world are swooning over Jeremy Lin, the New York Knicks point guard who just started to make a name for himself in the NBA. This lead to the world creating a nickname to his amazing plays, "linsanity". He certainly reminds me of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James back in the days when they were still amazing rookies. Here are some facts you must know about this 23-year old Jeremy Lin:

He is a Harvard Graduate. Though he is from California, he made it to a top university to study Economics, and graduated with honors last 2010.

He is Taiwanese-American. Yup, he is of asian descent, which I think is quite obvious already with his facial features and last name.

He recently got his guaranteed contract. Nobody really wanted to pay attention to him, until recently when his coach decided to let him play. He took the chance and did all he could (and he has been consistent so far), earning him his one-year contract. Now he doesn't have to sleep on his brother's couch.

He is lincredible, linsational, linvincible, linsane, and a linspiration for all!

Move over, Justin Bieber, we have a new love!

Charice on the Cover of Preview Magazine this January

The international singer Charice is getting a lot of attention because she is at the cover of Preview, a popular fashion magazine in the Philippines for its January-February 2011 issue. The reactions are mixed negative and positive, as some criticizes (yet another) overuse of Photoshop while loyal fans adore the more mature look that the young singer took on.

She did seem to look a lot slimmer on the cover photo, which many people criticized on their Facebook walls and Twitter feeds, as if they are the better person of everything. Photoshopped or not, I think Preview did a good job. Even the biggest Hollywood stars get certains parts of their bodies "photoshopped" so what's the big deal? Perhaps some people just couldn't believe how a small town girl like Charice can manage to take care of herself and become successful in her career, while these useless people are stuck having a social life online alone. 

Charice was part of Glee where she played as a Filipina exchange student named Sunshine Corazon, together with Lea Michele and Heather Morris.

Miss Universe 2011 is Miss Angola: Leila Lopes

This year's Miss Universe has been crowned! Miss Angola Leila Lopes, a 25 year old gave a very inspiring answer when asked about what she would change about her physical appearance. And her winning answer:

"Thank God I'm very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn't change a thing. I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life."

Captain America Trailer and the Skinny Steve

Marvel is almost done introducing each of "The Avengers". Up next is Captain America that is going to hit the theaters very, very soon! In case you are curious, no, Chris Evans did not have to lose weight in order to play the pre-serum Skinny Steve in the movie. The advanced technology we have allowed the moviemakers to digitally shrink Chris' body so that it looks skinny and short before he became Captain America. Because the actor had to put on 15lbs worth of muscle weight to look strong and sturdy, they could not hide his built under loose clothes. Much-Awaited Breaking Dawn (Twilight Saga) Trailer

If you are one of the Twilight fans, then you must be just as excited as I am about the first part of the Breaking Dawn movie. It won't be showing until November of this year, but they have released the trailer to keep fans like you and me as excited as they possibly can. Watching this trailer makes me want to read the book again and reminisce the wedding and honeymoon of Bella and Edward. Here's to all the vampire-bella-wolf lovers out there!

Lindsay Lohan's Fashion Statement in Court

What better way to say, "I'm innocent!" than to show up in figure-hugging, mid-calf length dress in court! Lindsay Lohan definitely knows how to make a statement. Her outfit is a Kimberly Ovitz mini dress, combined with black pumps and Chanel sunglasses. She even had her hair colored a few days ago so she looked really stunning. I don't know why people are fussing about her dress when I think it looks classy, and that she didn't ask anyone to pay for it. I say she can wear anything she wants wherever, just as I want to. Perhaps the people who are fussing cannot wear this kind of dress without looking like a white hotdog.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Engagement

Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton announced that they are engaged to get married on 2011. I know so many young girls will be heartbroken! The details of the wedding have not been revealed yet, but I'm sure it will be as lavish and royal as we expect it to be. Kate, who has no royal blood at all, came from a wealthy family whose parents worked hard enough for the millions that they have. Now a royal title awaits her but nobody knows yet. William is determined to give privacy to Kate and asked the media to leave her alone so as to prevent her to experience what his mother experiences as the Princess of Wales. Now Kate is wearing what used to be Princess Diana's engagement ring because William still wants his mother to be part of this special moment in his life. Let's wait until he is King William then and see if Kate can become Queen Catherine!

Justin Bieber Looks So Gay with Makeup On

Sorry, die-hard Justin Bieber fans, but this is a bad as Photoshopping can get. Or does he really enjoy putting on that heavy black eyeliner and lip gloss? Justin Bieber is on the cover of the new issue of the Toda Teen Star, a Latino magazine for teenagers. I don't think that the girls will be happy to know that Justin Bieber would very much like to put makeup on himself as much they girls do. I don't want to think that he is gay and I am sure that if he is, he would never admit it unless he wants to lose the millions of fans he has from all over the world. The fans are making him earn the millions of dollars he is earning now.

What should we look forward to from Justin Bieber? He is launching his nail polish collection soon called One Less Lonely Glitter, inspired by his songs and designed by him. What kind of guy designs freaking nail polishes unless he is gay? Oh and he is also launching his new fragrance soon called My World, with a little help and advice from his fellow celebrity and close friend Kim Kardashian. I don’t have any other information about this yet, except that Justin Bieber confirmed that scent would be far from fruity and that the perfume would come in baller bracelets and dog collars.

Five Reasons Why the LA Kings are the Best Team in the NHL

The Los Angeles Kings have a long way to go before they can win a Stanley Cup. Still, I think they are the best NHL team that is on their way to success. Here are five reasons why:

Dustin Brown

Captain of the team, Dustin Brown is an almost unbelievably, naturally gifted forward. He was part of the 2010 US Olympic Team that brought home the silver medal from the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Brown also ranks second in the NHL with 287 hits. Having said these, his leadership and sports skills bring in a huge contribution for the Kings. At only 25, Brown has yet to make a bigger impact and break more records in the history of NHL.

Kings Play for a Cause

They not only play for the win, but also for the community. This season, the team is hosting “Star of the Month”, a program arranged in partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation where they will grant wishes of two children with life-threatening medical conditions to meet and get up close with the players. This is only one of the community programs that the Kings participate in—what goes around comes around and the team will be at the top of the wheel soon.

Increased Defense with Greene’s Return

On his way to recovery, Matt Greene’s recovery from a shoulder injury should bring in a whole lot of defense for the team. He is expected to return by the end of October and I have high hopes that his come back would rattle the other NHL teams.

Good Head Coaches

Over the years, the LA Kings have been coached by the best names in NHL. Their last three coaches, for example, helped greatly to improve the team. Andy Murray, who was head coach from 1999-2006, guided the Kings to post 35 or more wins in three consecutive seasons (1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002), a first time in the team’s history. Marc Crawford, head coach from 2006-2008, also helped the team improve on a lot of areas. Terry Murray is the current head coach and seems to be doing a good job in enhancing the team’s stats.

Promising Prospects

These prospect players show great potential in bringing in the wins for the Kings in the future. Jonathan Bernier will be used once a week now by Coach Murray to take Jonathan Quick’s place as goalie. Derek Forbort is also being spotted as one of the best defensemen and has great future ahead of him in NHL. These two would definitely be great assets to the team when their time comes.

Who is she? Minka Kelly is the Sexiest Woman Alive as tagged by Esquire magazine, following in the footsteps of celebrities who held this title: Kate Beckinsale, Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel and Angelina Jolie. She stars at the TV Series, Friday Night Lights and will be appearing in Parenthood this fall. Minka Kelly is also dating Yankees star Derek Jeter so sorry guys, you have to be a hunk for this kind of woman to fall for or even notice you. Want to see more of her? She is starring in two up coming movies, The Roommate which is a horror film and Searching for Sonny which is a comedy. Better watch out for that! Parents Angry About Miley Cyrus Sexy Music Video

A few days ago I wrote about how dismayed I was with Miley Cyrus' new, supposedly sexy, music video for her song, Who Owns My Heart. And now the Parent Television Council has reacted violently about her too sexy music video that is not right for her age, and which proves that she really can't be tamed. Ironically, Billy Cyrus is actually one of the celebrity advisors of the Parent Television Council and yet I don't know how and why he allowed his daughter to strip off her clothes and hurt her career like that. Despite the parent's disappointments, I heard that Miley really calls the shots in her family since she brings in all the money, so if she wants to go sexy, nobody can really stand in her way. Of course the recording label thinks, "sex sells" in Hollywood so they go on and take advantage of it. I know this hurts Miley's career and that the "sexy Miley" just doesn't sell as much as the "wholesome Miley" we all grew up with. Pacquiao to Give $2k to Prepare for Boxing Fight with Margarito

Boxing fans, get ready for the fight of the year: Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito will punch their way to win the World Welterweight Championship title. Manny Pacquiao or "Pac Man" was reported to be down with flu last week, but is now back to training and sparring mode with trainer Freddie Roach in Baguio City, Philippines. Now Freddie Roach offers $2,000 to whoever knocks Pacquiao out. So far, Amir Khan of England and Vanes Martirosyan of California have accepted the challenge. Looks like this is part of Pacquiao's training against the "Tijuana Tornado" who claims he will knock the "Pac Man" out with an uppercut. Now I certainly can't wait to watch the Pacquiao-Margarito fight on live streaming. 

Miley Cyrus' Who Owns My Heart Video Too Sexy

Miley Cyrus can't be tamed and continues to shock us all with her new music video of the song, Who Owns My Heart where she seriously gone very sexy. I'm sure parents all over the world are starting to get worried and upset with this little girl's sudden change of image when she is not quite all grown up yet. In the music video, she can be seen singing on a bed wearing only underwear and dancing to obviously sexualized scenes. I am personally not impressed with the music video and with what she is trying to do--I think she looks like unripe fruit that's forced to ripen before its time. In simple words, awkward and trying hard. Her dancing looked like she was going mad--the sexed up routine looked like a really bad idea. Can somebody please sue the producers of this video for child exploitation? Kidding aside, the only people who will probably enjoy this video are die hard teenage boys and pedophiles. Mackenzie Foy Casted as Renesmee for Twilight Movie, Breaking Dawn

It's official--Mackenzie Foy has been cast as Renesmee, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan's vampire child in the next Twilight saga movie, Breaking Dawn. The 9-year old actress will play as the half-vampire, half human in the upcoming film set for release by Summit Entertainment on November 2011. Stephenie Meyer, the author of the book, also confirmed that Mackenzie was officially cast and wrote on a Twilight Facebook page that she is excited to work with the young actress. 

This last book in the Twilight series will be split into movies wherein part 1 will be released next year as I have already mentioned, and the last part on November 2011. I certainly hope that this is going to be worth the wait! Kirsten Stewart will still be Bella Swan, Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black.

Glee Season 2 Episode 2 Stills - Britney Spears Episode

Still can't get enough of Glee? I've managed to get some good stills from the show's Season 2 Episode 2 where Britney Spears guest starred and Heather Morris rocked her own version of Britney's songs. Heather plays as Brittany in the Fox television series and did a really sizzling music video of I'm A Slave 4 U and Me Against the Music. You can watch the videos here and here. Rachel McAdams Holding Hands with Michael Sheen in Toronto

I always love writing about celebrities finding romance among their fellow celebrities. Rachel McAdams was seen in Toronto holding hands with Michael Sheen, her co-star in her new film Midnight in Paris. Now I am not sure if they are truly in love or just hooking up for publicity of their upcoming movie. The couple have not commented on anything yet since the photo was published at People magazine but I've read that they were again seen together at the Toronto Film Festival after-party. Well we can say they are enjoying each other's company since they are working together. Or we can say they are doing it for publicity. Then after the movie is released on 2011, let's see if we can say that they are truly in love.

Heather Morris Rocked Glee's Britney Spears Episode

I'm sure you've seen this cheerleader a number of times if you have been watching Glee and laughed off her legendary dumb blonde lines. Brittany Pierce (or Heather Morris in real life) haven't really had much exposure from the first season of the Fox television show and we're so glad she was given a chance to shine on the 2nd season of the show's 2nd episode. She has been hiding her attractive body behind those unflattering cheerleading uniform she has been wearing on the show as a Cheerio. After watching her own rendition of Britney Spear's I'm a Slave 4 U and Me Against the Music music videos, she apparently can deliver more than just her funny lines and curly hair. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer and Stills

I know a bunch of kids and kids-at-heart like me who are very excited to see the first installment of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie. Having read all the books, I am quite pleased with all of the previous Harry Potter films they have created so far, and thus my expectations for the Deathly Hallows movie are just over the top. The film still stars the same cast we have grown to love--Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ronald Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. I am so thrilled to see the movie soon, but for the time being, I am happy with their movie poster:
